About Noriba
Japan news in English, laid out like the railway it is named after.

Noriba (乗り場) is the Japanese word for the place where you board: the platform, the bus stop, the taxi rank. We picked it because a good news story should work the same way. You should know where you are, where it comes from and where it goes next.
Each weekday our reporters in Kyoto, Yokohama and Tokyo read Japanese newspapers, official announcements and the releases of museums, sports bodies, research agencies and film festivals. We choose stories that matter in daily life and check them against the original source. Then we write them in plain English and list every source at the foot of the page.
We cover heritage and festivals, sport, science, screen, and the seasons and travel. We do not cover party politics, elections, crime, courts or armed conflict.
Noriba is published by Puget Lantern Media LLC, 105 Hamilton Blvd, Seattle, WA 98190, USA. It is funded by advertising, which is sold separately from the newsroom under our advertising policy.
