Rules
Editorial standards
Seven rules every Noriba story follows. Last reviewed 16 October 2026
A1Every fact has a source
We report from named, checkable sources: official bodies, organisers, clubs, research agencies and established Japanese media. Each story lists them under “Transfers”.
A2Checked before it leaves
Names, numbers, dates and times are checked against the source. Where sources disagree, we say so in the text.
A3What we leave out
Party politics, elections, crime, court cases and armed conflict.
A4Names
We write Japanese names in the order most familiar to English readers and follow the spelling the person or organisation uses.
A5Two people per story
Every story is signed by its reporter and edited by a second person before publication.
A6Images are labelled
Our images are AI-generated illustrations and are captioned as such. They never stand in for a photograph of the event.
A7Advertisers have no say
Advertisers cannot choose, change or see our stories in advance.
